The circuit is made up of around 1,000 Methodist Christians who worship in sixteen churches in this part of Hampshire and Wiltshire. We have worshipping communities in farming areas, in towns and cities and on the edge of the port city of Southampton. Our circuit is in the Southampton Methodist District.

We include the ancient cathedral city of Winchester, the expanding community of Eastleigh, the market town of Romsey, famous as the home of Lord Louis Mountbatten, and a section of the New Forest National Park. We are very concerned about the environment globally and are close to an Eco Circuit Bronze Award.

Now we are planning to enhance our mission by adding local pastors to the ministerial team. Ministers will be freed to develop new activities in the areas of new build and of social need.

Here is our position in the words of our Superintendent Minister in a letter to the Circuit:
We need to take this seriously in order to care for each other. I am therefore making the decision that worship will be cancelled in all Methodist churches from today.

The full letter is in our Publications. Here also is the advice from the Methodist Church on March 17. and from the Government as issued on March 12 2020. We will be adding worship and teaching material to our Worship online tab for you to use.
